
Trash & Recycling
Trash will be collected on Mondays (except holidays, then pickup is on Tuesday).
Summer Trash schedule - Starting May 26th through September 29th the borough will pick up trash twice weekly - once on Monday (except holidays, then pickup is on Tuesday) and then again on Thursday (except holidays, then pickup is on Friday)
The weight of Trash cans or bins should NOT EXCEED 45 lbs.
NO electronics, propane tanks or compressed gas containers, kerosene heaters or items containing freon and medical waste can be collected. These items must be recycled at select sites during the year. For a list of dates, as well as details of acceptable items, please visit the Delaware County website for details.
**The company that Morton Borough has contracted with will not pick up any construction debris (wood, drywall, nails, bricks, concrete, etc..) in trash. Only household trash will be picked up. If you have any questions on what is acceptable, please contact the borough office. 610-543-4565**
Residential Trash & Recycling
**Notice to all residents - there will be no curbside recycling in 2025**
Glass, cans, plastic bottles, paper, and cardboard boxes may also be taken to the recycling drop-off bins located at:

500 Highland Avenue parking lot between the Morton-Rutledge Fire and Morton Police Departments.
**Please do not use the bin for used pizza boxes, shredded paper or plastic bags.

The Borough encourages all residents to visit Retrievr.com for disposal of clothes and electronics. Retrievr is a program that collects these items right from your door and recycles them at no cost.

Residents are allowed to put one bulk item out (under 40 lbs.) on Mondays only.

Q: If Morton recycles, will my taxes decrease?
A: No, trash and recycling pick-up is not a tax, it’s a bill. However, Morton residents could see a small saving in our trash collection bill.
Q: How do I know what items can be recycled and where to take them?
A: These items should NOT be put in your household trash:
Paint Products (Turpentine, Paint Thinners, Spray Paint, Oil Based Paints)
Household Products (Kerosene, Mothball, Rug and Drain Cleaners)
Outdoor Products (Weed Killers, Swimming Pool Chemicals)
Automotive Products (Grease and Rust Solvents, Motor Oil, Brake Fluids)

Q: When can I drop off my recyclables at the Morton Borough designated locations?
A: Items may be dropped off at any time.
Q: Will there be leaf collection?
A: Yard Waste & Leaf Collection will be picked up curbside during regular trash pick-up days.
